Muzaffarabad: Chairman Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority(TEVTA), Razaq Ahmed Nadeem has said that TEVTA, through public-private partnerships, is actively contributing to the skill development of unemployed youth and women, empowering them to stand on their feet and play an essential role in the economic development of the state.
He told the journalists that the Azad Kashmir TVETA Act was passed in 2007, and it incorporates provisions to meet the demands of the present era, including the role of registered NGOs in the TVETA sector. He further mentioned
He said this while talking to media during the visit to Islamic Relief Head Office here. He said that TEVTA is also working for livelihood, credit, technical education, and social welfare of vulnerable classes, and they plan to microfinance the pass-out trainees to help them in their businesses. Currently, they are focusing on livelihood projects in District Bagh and Haveli.
He said that whenever and wherever there, it would be deemed necessary, TEVTA will provide complete guidance and ownership support.
During the visit, Program Manager of the Islamic Relief Pakistan, Zeeshan Maqbool, provided a briefing on the ongoing projects and initiatives of Islamic Relief, as well as their progress in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training sector. He informed that Islamic Relief has collaborated with TEVTA to facilitate training for women in Muzaffarabad and Bagh, and they have been provided certification.
Chairman TEVTA, Razaq Ahmed Nadeem, was also presented with a souvenir from Islamic Relief.
On this occasion, District Coordinator TEVTA Muzaffarabad and Jhelum Valley, Waqar Ali Qamar, Assistant Director Publicity, Muhammad Ajaz Khan accompanied Chairman Authority, Muhammad Mohsin Khan. Cluster Incharge Islamic Relief, Muhammad Sajjad Khan were also present.
