The relationship between institutions and individuals, however, becomes a love affair. in case an institution is served by the same individuals who are its product. The individuals own their mother institution like their matriarch, thus giving birth to a life-long relationship with the institution. This relationship keeps intact the spirit and courage of serving the institution, which in turn serves the nation-building process.
Almost a century-long history of the Islamia College Peshawar most probably has a few examples wherein persons first well-groomed in the Islamian atmosphere as students, then after serving the institution for a longer period, they headed it. A unique example of this phenomenon is a person who secured the first position in his matriculation examination in 1963 in the NWFP. He did his F.Sc. and B.Sc. from Islamia College and his M.Sc. from the University of Peshawar in 1969. Who, after serving more than three decades as a teacher, also headed this great seat of learning for three years. The success of this distinguished Islamian does not end here. He has the honour to simultaneously look after two institutions, Islamia College and Islamia Collegiate School, as principal. Only one example of Professor L. Tipping could be retrieved from the storehouse of Islamia College history, who held the dual charge of these two institutions some 94 years ago. Again, good fortune visited him in September 2007, when he became the first principal to undertake the responsibility of heading three institutions at a time—the Islamia Collegiate School. Islamia College for Boys and Islamia College for Girls It was during his period that a girl’s section was added to the main educational hierarchy of Islamia College Peshawar.
Allah the Almighty rewarded him for these meritorious services to Dar-ul-Ulum Islamia Sooba Sarhad in such a manner that during his period of principalship, the groundwork for Islamia College University was carried out under his dynamic leadership. And above all, the college was upgraded to university level on December 4, 2007.
The month of March has a special significance in his life. He was born in the month of March, 1948; he performed Hajj in this month in 1999; the ordinance of Islamia College University was issued on March 26; and his retirement came on March 27, 2008.

He served it from 1970 to 2005 as a chemistry teacher and was appointed its principal in 2005. During his 35-year service career, he served the Islamia College in various capacities, like Chairman, Department of Chemistry, Assistant Warden, Warden, Senior Warden, Provost, Staff Proctor, Chief Proctor, and Vice Principal.
