Regional Director of Benazir Income Support Program Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Abdul Aziz Qureshi and his team conducted a field visit to the areas surrounding Muzaffarabad today.
The main objective was to ensure the transparent disbursement of funds for the Benazir Kafalat Program and Benazir Educational Scholarships during the current quarter. Dr. Qureshi interacted with the beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program and emphasized the importance of sisterhood as their top priority.
He urged women to collect their full amount after the federal government of Pakistan issued an instalment of Rs.8500 for biometric verification and to obtain a receipt for any hassles or complaints. In case of any issues, the beneficiaries can contact the tehsil offices of Benazir Income Support Program.
Dr. Qureshi also discussed the increased stipend being awarded to the Benazir Income Support Program beneficiaries by the BSP Board BI. The total eligible families in Azad Jammu and Kashmir are 99,223, and in the recent episode, 12,421 women received Rs. 10,557,000 (10 crores fifty-five lakh seven thousand rupees), which makes 12% of the total amount of Rs. 82,960,900 (eighty-two crores ninety-six lakh nine thousand rupees).
Dr. Qureshi acknowledged the efforts of the regional team and supporting institution Bank Al Falah to ensure the transparency of remittance of funds.
