ISLAMABAD: President Kashmir Global Council, Farooq Siddiqui wrote a letter to the Secretary General United Nations in which he demanded from UN to give representation to Kashmiris in Kashmir issue here on other day.
In his letter, Farooq Siddiqui wrote that he wants to remind UN that it has promised Kashmiris that it would resolve the Kashmir issue according to the wish of the masses of Kashmir. Indian government should be sent a follow up and reminder of the reports of UNHCR regarding the human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) which it published in 2018 and 2019. It is written in the letter that India took the Kashmir issue to the UN in 1948. It was decided at the platform of the UN that the masses of Kashmir will be given the right to self determination. But, after passing 7 decades the Kashmir issue is still unresolved. The United Nations (UN) should play its decisive role in resolving the prolonged Kashmir issue by giving the right of representation to people of Kashmir. Remarkable steps should be taken for resolving Kashmir issue while engaging all the international actors. The process of illegal settlement of people in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) should also be stopped, the letter added.
