Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s Chief Executive Wasim Khan said they haven’t discussed yet whether Azhar Ali will continue as captain in Tests or not.
Speaking to Dawn News, Khan said team management under the supervision of Head Coach cum Chief Selector Misbah-ul-Haq will review Azhar’s captaincy before announcing the Test squad against New Zealand.
“It is not decided yet whether Azhar will continue as Test captain or not, in fact, we haven’t discussed anything on it,” said Khan. “Currently, we are just focusing on the white-ball home tour against Zimbabwe. Later on, we have plans to review the performances of players and Test captain Azhar, and any decision would be taken once we completely review the situation,” he added.
Earlier, reports suggested Azhar’s captaincy will also be reviewed after Misbah-ul-Haq left Chief Selctor’s post due to being overburdened.
