Who will care people

The caretaker government is making tall claims that the economy of the country is improving due to its batter policies. Though the stock market went up during the current month, the kitchen items and the cost of energy could not come down.

Due to the price-hike of petrol, gas and electricity as well as the agricultural commodities during the last one and half year or so, the budget of the common man had been disturbed so badly that it became extremely hard for him to meet both ends. Due to a meager source of income the working class of the country is forced to skip one meal to meet up the expenses of the education of their children and healthcare charges for their ailing family members.

The economic experts are of the opinion that the price index of any country is set by watching the prices as well as per capita income, but the political leaders, while in power, should feel ashamed to prove that Pakistan is the cheapest country among the world. But when they say these kinds of statements, they forget one most important factor: that Pakistan is also among those countries that have the lowest per capita income.

The ill policies of the governments and corrupt practices of the rulers had made the life of the middle class of the society miserable. As a matter of fact, it had become a routine of the each and every government in the past to take hefty loans on extremely tough conditions from the international donor agencies such as World Bank, International Monitoring Fund and Asian Development Bank and putting all the burden of taxes on the shoulder of the common man.

On the other hand, the people don’t even know where the money had gone that came to the national exchequer as loan. Neither the mega development projects except few have been seen nor the infrastructure in healthcare, education or roads get better in any part of the country.

these circumstances when the plight of common man is not improved rather his condition is plunging down day by day, he is full right to ponder that the amount which is borrowed on the name of the people of the country is either incurred on the political maneuvering and distributing among the allied parties of the government to avert blackmailing by them or it has gone direct to the foreign bank accounts of political stalwarts.

But the people are forced to pay the price of loans by paying heavy taxes and duties. The rulers always hoodwink the people and increase the price of different items by taking names of the hard conditions of the IMF or world bank, but they themselves don’t bother to share the load with the people.

Now the price hike in the energy sector has crossed every limit. Even when the price of petroleum products dropped in the international market, the prices in Pakistan got higher. The rulers always take the name of poor people but they do not have any pity for them. The ruling class always gets ready to squeeze the last drop of blood out of the common man by crushing them under the load of taxes which break down their backbone.
