A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others… Douglas MacArthur

Kashmir – lifeline of Pakistan, as Quaid-i-Azam said “Kashmir is the Jugular vein of Pakistan and no nation or country would tolerate its Jugular vein remains under the sword of the enemy”.

Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir visited the Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border between India and Pakistan, and his visit was marked by strong rhetoric against India. The visit was widely discussed in both national and international media. During his visit to the LoC, Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir strongly denounced India and its aggressive stance towards Pakistan. He vowed that Pakistan will always stand by the Kashmiri people and support them in their struggle for self-determination. General Asim Munir’s stance against India has won him immense support from the Pakistani people, particularly those in Kashmir.

Many in Pakistan and abroad trying to build-up that Pakistan has ‘compromised’ on Kashmir due to their political interest or affiliation and using ‘defaming the Army’ as a tool to achieve their political desires. Hence, his visit has further cemented the Pakistan Army’s position as a powerful institution that is committed to safeguarding Pakistan’s territorial integrity and national interests. This visit has also served as a reminder of the Kashmir conflict – an unfinished agenda, which has been ongoing since India and Pakistan gained independence from Britain in 1947. Ultimately, the best defense of “motherland” will require a multifaceted approach that combines military preparedness with diplomacy, development, and good governance. The Pakistan Army is one of the most respected institutions in the country, with a strong sense of discipline, professionalism, and patriotism. The army is seen as a symbol of national unity and pride, and it has played a crucial role in promoting national cohesion and identity. The army’s institutional prestige and commitment has helped it to win the allegiance of the people, who see it as a guardian of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Kashmir conflict is the longest-running territorial disputes in modern history. The international community has been urging India and Pakistan to resolve their differences through dialogue and peaceful means. Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir’s position against India has once again highlighted the need for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir conflict. This conflict has caused immense suffering to the people of Kashmir, and a peaceful resolution is essential for their well-being and prosperity. COAS Asim Munir said that “the world must ensure justice and deliver what is promised to the Kashmiri people as per the UN resolutions”.

The current situation in the region is volatile, and any escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan could have serious consequences for regional peace and stability. It is also reflected in COAS’s statement that “any misconception resulting into a misadventure will always be met with the full might of our armed forces backed by a resilient nation”.

Moreover, as the elections are reaching, it is understood that Indian current administration would definitely take some desperate actions for securing the vote bank. But it is to remind that the under the leadership of COAS Asim Munir – a courageous & assertive soldier, the armed forces are fully conscious of that and are working on the parallel plans, this time it could be an offensive move rather than a defensive one. Secondly, the visit was not mere a visit, but a commitment of COAS Asim Munir towards people of Kashmir. In the contemporary scenario, a dedicated armed force under a strong leadership is much needed to handle the security issues in and outside the borders.
