Lahore: Smog and weather changes can force the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to change the venues for Zimbabwe T20Is and remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 5 which are scheduled to be played here at Gaddafi Stadium in November.
According to Cricket Pakistan, the PCB is considering Rawalpindi as an alternative option to host T20Is too against Zimbabwe as Lahore will face smog during the upcoming winter season as usual.
PCB’s medical staff and high-ups are closely monitoring the situation. The final decision will be taken once Rawalpindi completes hosting three ODIs on October 30, November 1, and 3, respectively.
The cricket board has already announced to start the matches in the day time to avoid smog affecting the game.
On the other hand, the PSL 5’s knock-out stage here is also in jeopardy due to a change in weather conditions. The mega event’s closing is also likely to be shifted somewhere else. PSL 5 matches are scheduled in mid-November at Gaddafi Stadium.
