MUZAFFARABAD: Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana assured for the approval of Information Department’s summary for extra budget of 40 million here on Thursday. He also issued order to pay all the pending payments of development advertisements to the respective Newspapers before June 30. According to detail, Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana was briefed about the issues being faced by the state newspapers during his meeting with a delegation of All Kashmir Newspapers Society (AKNS) under the leadership of President AKNS Sardar Zahid Tabassum on Wednesday. During the meeting the delegation told the CS that the government departments of AJK are not paying the pending dues of development advertisements. Speaking to the delegation, Chief Secretary said that state’s media is playing remarkable role in the current situation caused by the coronavirus. State newspapers firmly stood with government in this tough time. They also played an important role in awareness campaign against coronavirus. He also lauded the role of state newspapers in Kashmir Movement and assured that all the possible steps will be taken to resolve the issues being faced by the state newspapers.
