Constitution is national document, amendment should be made by national consensus: APC-AJK

MUZAFFARABAD:  Peoples Party Azad Kashmir organized an all-party Kashmir conference on important issues including the current situation in Occupied Kashmir. Prime Minister AJK, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, former president AJK, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, Chaudhary Abdul Majeed and president of Pakistan People’s Party; Chaudhary Latif Akbar attended the conference. The conference adopted a unanimous declaration that the All Parties Kashmir Conference considers the constitution to be a national document and any amendment should be made by national consensus. The unanimous draft of the PPP era should be the basis for the expected amendment. The All Parties Kashmir Conference unanimously demanded that the amendments made in the State Subject Laws in Gilgit-Baltistan be immediately withdrawn and the status quo be restored. “In our view, the amendments to the State Subject Rules are likely to harm the unity of Gilgit-Baltistan Kashmir” the participants of APC added. The All Parties Kashmir Conference expresses deep concern over the deteriorating situation in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and pays tribute to the unparalleled struggle and sacrifices of the people of Occupied Kashmir. The All Parties Kashmir Conference, while expressing solidarity with the freedom-loving people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, expresses its determination to continue its full support for the independence movement at all levels. The fundamental right of the people of Kashmir, the right to self-determination, is a sacred, irrevocable and final demand on which there can be no compromise. Kashmiris will exercise this right through a free and fair referendum, the participants maintained. The All-Party Conference calls on the UN Secretary-General to keep a close eye on India’s dangerous and aggressive intentions as there are fears that India may launch a false flag operation on the Line of Control (LoC) after being defeated by China in Ladakh. Participants of the All-Party Kashmir Conference strongly condemn the unprovoked and provocative firing on the ceasefire line and call on the UN Secretary-General to monitor the ceasefire line and ensure ceasefire with UN observers. At the end, All Parties Kashmir Conference extended its condolences to the families of the victims of the coronavirus and assures them of all possible assistance.
