DC Kotli urges transporters to follow SOPs

KOTLI: Deputy Commissioner Kotli, Dr. Sardar Umar Azam Khan urged transporters to follow the SOPs devised to control the spread of coronavirus here on Sunday. He expressed this while presiding over a session of transport union in Kotli.

He said that passengers, drivers, and conductors must use masks and sanitizers. There should be proper distance between the sitting passengers. The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is taking remarkable steps to resolve the issues of those who are affected by coronavirus pandemic, he added. He said that the taking care of the lower segment of the society is the top priority of the administration. Citizens and business community should show responsibility so that the life may be brought on track with all the safety measures, he added. Transporters demanded at the occasion that they are suffering a lot as the transport outside Kotli is banned. Taking notice of the financial problems of drivers and conductors, the decision taken at the occasion that public transport will be functional with SOPs from July 1, 2020.
