Barrister terms overseas Kashmiris back bone of economy

MUZAFFARABAD: Overseas Pakistanis and Kashmiris play their vital role in raising the Kashmir issue at international level, they earn abroad and send money to Pakistan which makes them the back bone of the economy, said the former PM AJK, President PTI AJK, and Member Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry here on Monday. He expressed this while addressing the budget session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad.

He said that overseas community should be given right to vote. The number of the seats allocated for the overseas people should be increased from one to five. Similarly the allocated seats for the women in AJK LA should also be increased from five to 10.AJK has rich potential in tourism, but the government allocated less than 1% for tourism sector in the budget, he added.

He said that the state newspapers are suffering a lot due the policy of the government. Steps should be taken to resolve all the issues being faced by the state newspapers, he demanded.
