Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has claimed that Pakistan’s domination over their arch-rivals was such that Indian players would seek forgiveness from Pakistan after the match.

“We have always enjoyed playing against India. We have thrashed them so much that they used to ask for forgiveness from us after the match,” Afridi said on YouTube show Cric Cast.

He also said that he enjoyed playing against Australia and India as they are big teams. “I have enjoyed a lot playing against India and Australia, you have more pressure. They are good teams, big teams. Going and performing in their conditions is the big thing,” he added.

He also labeled his innings at Chennai in 1999 against India as the most memorable innings. “My most memorable inning was the 141 against India, that too in India. I was not going on that trip; they were not taking me. Wasim Akram and the chief selector of that time supported me a lot. It was a very difficult tour and that inning was very important,” he maintained.

It must be noted that against India, Afridi has scored 1524 runs in 67 ODIs and 709 runs in eight Tests.
