VC Women University Swabi discusses possibility of reopening of Varsity

PESHAWAR: The Women University, Swabi Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahana Urooj Kazmi  addressed an online meeting regarding preventive steps to control the spread of  COVID-19 during Eidul Azah and Moharram, on July 8, 2020,  in addition  to discuss the possibility of reopening of  University in accordance with the  guidelines of HEC and ensuring full enforcement of SOPs recommended by the government and health experts.Earlier the same day, a meeting was held in the Chairmanship of Federal Minister for Education with Provincial Ministers to overview the reopening of all educational institutes across the country, wherein they all  agreed to reopen the educational institutes in the first week of September with strict adherence to the SOPs.In this regard Dr. Kazmi, called an emergency meeting with all Heads of Teaching Departments and Administrative Sections to discussed the decision taken in the meeting of Federal Education Minister.

The matter was discussed in detail where most of the participants recorded their feedback.During the meeting it was decided that a sub-committee will be constituted to prepare final SoPs for reopening of the University.During the meeting it was also decided that COVID-19 tests should be compulsory for all staff members. For the educational activities, it was also discussed that in case if pandemic continue for  longer period then the University will commence Fall 2020 Semester as online.At the end Vice Chancellor urged that when all the precautionary measures are completed only then the University will be reopened for face-to-face mode of learning.
