PESHAWAR: Eye Care Services Program organized free eye camp in different areas of Sub Division Peshawar under the supervision of Directorate Health Services Dr. Niaz Muhammad Afridi Merged Areas in the month of June 2020. During the camp patients were provided services in the form of free check up, provision of free medicines, provision of reading glasses to the presbyopic patients and registration of patients for cataract surgeries. The aim of the camp was to provide quality eye health services to patients having eye problems at their door steps. A total No of 559 patients suffering from various ophthalmological diseases were examined by a qualified team of medical professionals, while 08 cataract surgeries were registered. A total number of 234 reading glasses have been provided to patients having problems with near visions. In addition to that 01 Community awareness session was conducted in Sub-Division Peshawar. In the said session people were made aware of the precautionary measures of communicable eye diseases, signs and symptoms of refractive errors, importance of vitamin A and management of allergic conjunctivitis. The elders and general public appreciated the efforts of Director Health Services Merged Areas Dr. Niaz Muhammad Afridi, Program Manager and the whole team of Eye Care Services Program for providing quality treatment to the poor and deserving people living in far flung areas of Sub-Division Peshawar.
