Peshawar: According to details, the Prime Minister Imran Khan had received an audio tape of conversation in which the former Advisor to Chief Minister for Information and Public Relation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ajmal Khan Wazir fixing the commission money in advertising campaign with the owner of a private firm. The source told to Country News that the Prime Minister instructed the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mehmood Khan to conduct inquiry. Official documents denoted that the Chief Minister office directed the Chief Secretary to process a high level facts finding inquiry into recently surfaced audio tape of Ajmal Wazir.
Meanwhile the audio tape of about 13 minutes and 22 seconds lengthy bilateral discussion of deal between the accused public office holder and private agency owner got viral on social media and other source of communication. The Chief Minister issued notification in which action has been taken under Section 3 of KP Advisers and Special Assistants to the Chief Minister under (Appointment) Act, 1989. Whereas Ajmal Wazir was directed to cease his position he was holding, while Special Assistant to CM, KPK for Local Government and the youngest member of provincial assembly Kamran Bangash was assigned an additional portfolio as to cater the position of Advisor to Chief Minister for Information & Public Relations Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The reason behind Wazir’s removal is said to be the leaked audio clip and allegations that he got commission from an advertising agency. “Ajmal Wazir was removed after a leaked audio clip,” Bangash confirmed. “Some things have come to light regarding Wazir taking commissions from an advertising firm” He said.

Bangash was elected with clear majority as Member Provincial Assembly of Khyber pakhtunkhwa, and soon after he was assigned the position of Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. When a conflict was going on in-between of the Chief Minister and Tarakai Group of PTI, Kamran had been awarded the portfolio of Local Government and Rural Development while now he shouldered on an additional charge of Information & PRs. Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Local Government, Information and Public Relations Kamran Bangash has said that the Chief Minister has taken timely and clear notice of the alleged audio leak of Ajmal Khan Wazir. He said that Ajmal Wazir had been removed from his post to maintain transparency, adding that the forensic analysis of the alleged audio will be taken, if Ajmal Wazir is found innocent, he will be part of the team again.
Bangash also confirmed that Prime Minister Imran Khan had been informed of the matter and a forensic investigation will be held to dig out for seeing the actual picture. He added that he will soon give the media a “detailed briefing” on the matter.
Additionally, a letter has also been written by the CM’s secretariat to the provincial chief secretary saying that KP chief minister has “desired to process a case for the fact-finding inquiry into recently surfaced audio tape of Mr Ajmal Khan Wazir.” “The matter may be treated as most important and urgent,”
