Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar may not be ready to host the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six matches after the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government excused itself from hosting.
According to a report in Daily express, the renovation work of the stadium is yet to be completed. Hence, it cannot host any matches planned under the PSL.
Sources also revealed that the KPK government has suggested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to host PSL matches in the cricket stadium built inside the Hayatabad Sports Complex.
PCB’s High-Performance Director Nadeem Khan along with Head of International Player Development, Saqlain Mushtaq recently visited both the venues.
Provincial government official briefed them that the construction work was due to complete in June 2020 at Arbab Niaz Stadium but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the work has been delayed.
