State Newspapers seek special attention of govt: Secretary General AKNS

MUZAFFARABAD: State Newspapers are facing the worst situation during the current times, government should devise special policy to bring them out of the current crisis, said the Secretary General All Kashmir Newspapers Society (AKNS), Raja Amjid Hussain here on Sunday. He expressed this in his special statement released from Muzaffarabad. He said that state Newspapers are dependent on government’s advertisements which are not being released for last three months due to current lockdown situation caused by the spread of coronavirus pandemic. The government of AJK should release coronavirus awareness advertisements. They will help in spreading the awareness regarding coronavirus among the masses side by side helping the state newspapers in the current crisis situation. Due to the current lock down situation expenditures of Newspapers have been increased rapidly. Thousands of extra rupees are being spent on making and circulating the Newspapers in the current situation, he added. Secretary General AKNS said that State Newspapers have great worth and value. They are playing a great role in providing awareness among masses side by side highlighting the view point of the government. The government should look into the issues of state Newspapers as they are facing a continued deficit, he further said.
