Drugs and youngsters

According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, there are 7.6 million drug users in Pakistan. Of these, more than 4 million are drug addicts, the highest number in any country in the world. Cannabis and heroin abuse is rampant in the country and drugs are very cheap and easy. Most drugs in Pakistan come from Afghanistan, the country responsible for at least 75% of heroin. Tons are brought. According to the UNODC, more than 800,000 Pakistanis regularly use heroin.

Most of them are between the ages of 15 and 64. In Pakistan, according to a United Nations report, the total number of drug addicts is 7.6 million, with 78% male and 22% female. The number of drug addicts is increasing at a rate of 40,000 per annum which makes Pakistan one of the most drug-affected countries in the world. Drug use in Pakistan is increasing day by day. The biggest disadvantage of this is that along with this increase, the HIV positivity is also increasing. Most morphine and heroin are smuggled from Afghanistan.

The growing use of drugs in Pakistan is a threat to the future. I think if we do not stop it now, the young generation of the country will be destroyed. The Anti-Narcotics Force is a federal executive bureau of the government of Pakistan, tasked with dealing with drug trafficking and use in Pakistan. This organization is fulfilling its responsibility well. But in spite of all this, people use drugs to show themselves as models. And some people are also affected by bad environment. And the main reason for its spread is this. There is also 80 to 90% opium in our neighboring country Afghanistan. It is also produced illegally. And then it makes morphine and heroin which is easily brought to Pakistan.

There was no special rigidity on this border, because the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan is about 2500 km away. but now it is being fenced. Before that, drugs could be easily transported. The main reason is the proliferation of drugs in our country. Now we do not want to put all the blame on Afghanistan. We ourselves are not a milkmaid. The government has created an anti-narcotics force but the strength of this force is only 3100. Now how can 3100 people handle a population of 20 crores.

In the country’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), an estimated 11 percent of residents use illicit substances. Pakistan is said to be the world’s most addicted country to heroin. Are more affected than everyone, whether in a city, community, family, school or college, is directly or indirectly affected by drugs and alcohol. Twenty-three million people, mostly over the age of 12, are addicted to drugs that are affecting more people around them. For example, their parents, neighbors, siblings and friends.

Most young people in our country start using drugs because they are influenced by Westerners, and depression and frustration sometimes lead to drug addiction in young people.

Besides, there is so much money in the drug business that people become rich overnight. And then the one who is greedy for money does not care about the destruction of anyone’s life. And I think it is the fault of the parents to spoil their children. Parents want to keep a close eye on their children. Look at their activities. Where do they go with whom? I think parents should have a friendly atmosphere with their children. If parents are busy with their activities then who will look after the children.

However, the hazard of drugs can be battled. Education is the primary fight. Everyone should be educated about the harm and effects of drugs so that they may know the consequences of its use and can avoid it. Government should take strict steps against the drug dealers and should authorize the law by increasing the police labor.
