Farooq Haider assures for no cut in information department’s budget

MUZAFFARABAD: The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan assured on Friday that there will be no cut in the budget of Information department. Instead, the budget of Information Department will be increased further. The Prime Minister has summoned a high level session on June 8 in Muzaffarabad regarding the information department’s budget suggestions. The directions have been issued to Director General Information in this regard.

According to detail, upon special directions of the former President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), Afzal Butt and President All Kashmir Newspapers Society (AKNS), Sardar Zahid Tabassum, former Advisor to PM on Information, Murtaza Durrani met with the PM AJK Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan in Muzaffarabad and presented the reservations of AKNS regarding cut in normal budget of information department. In response, the Prime Minister AJK Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan said that state newspapers are playing remarkable role in Kashmir Movement, therefore their budget will never ever be decreased. Government is well aware of the importance of media, he added.
