Darkest chapter of Kashmir’s history began on August 5 last year: Nabila Irshad

ISLAMABAD: The darkest chapter of Kashmir’s history has been started from last year after the unilateral decision of India on August 5, said the Chairperson Jammu & Kashmir Democratic Party, Nabila Irshad Advocate here on Wednesday. She expressed this while addressing a webinar held in the connection of the completion of one year of lockdown in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).

She said that Modi government launched demographic apartheid in Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and divided the region into three parts. Kashmiri people are facing immense difficulties, pain and persecution under the continues military siege which started on August 5 last year in particular but generally there is military siege in IOK for last 7 decades. Women lost their honour, kids lost their eyesight, youngsters lost their lives and elders lost their everything but they did not give up. There is a continuity of one out of thousands examples of brutality, abuse, insecurity, unimportance and triviality of right of innocent people of Kashmir. The masses of Kashmir are engaged in a genuine freedom struggle, she added.

Nabila Irshad said that Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute and it has also been recognized that the Kashmiris are fighting for the right of self determination which is their basic and birth right. This right is world’s most popular right in present era. So, world should come forward to support the people of Kashmir. International community should break its silence over the prolonged Kashmir issue. World should put pressure to India to stop its inhuman and unlawful and illegal activities in Kashmir, she further said.
