NIM successfully concludes 29th Mid Career Management Course online amid COVID-19

Peshawar: NIM, Peshawar makes history; successfully concludes 29th Mid Career Management Course through online means; DG Ms. Farah Hamid Khan felicitates NIM’s Management and Course Participants. Director General National Institute of Management, Peshawar Ms. Farah Hamid Khan yesterday congratulated NIM’s Faculty and the Administration on the successful completion of 29thMid Career Management Course. While addressing the 44 officers who completed the course, she said that NIMs, all over the country, made history when they successfully concluded the remaining 4 weeks of Mid Career Management Course through virtual means. She added that when the training was halted due to Covid-19, NIMs Peshawar, Quetta, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad under the guidance of NSPP resorted to virtual means. So NSPP resumed MCMC and SMC in online mode and by the grace of Allah, the Almighty, 29th MCMC was very smoothly carried to its logical end making it as real as possible. She informed that amidst the onslaught of Covid-19, it indeed was a challenge but NSPP and NIMs converted it into an opportunity through untiring efforts of the faculty and administration. She further said that Establishment Division, NSPP and NIMs established a precedent for other training and academic institutions of the country to follow. She said that SMC is being carried on through online means and hoped that it would also be completed despite all odds. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Instructor Abdul Sattar highlighted the objectives of the training and said that the training covered all those areas of skills development and character building which are essential for the officers serving on BS-19 Positions. He said that the training included Lecture discussions, tutorial discussions, panel discussions, current issue presentations, case studies and simulation exercises including training in IT necessary for the overall competence of officers. He said that NIMs follow very strict norms of discipline to shape the trainee officers for facing challenging situations. He said that ample opportunities were being provided to the officers for public speaking and research to enhance their confidence level and develop in them the habit of challenging narratives and finding out-the-box and innovative solutions through application of mind and skills. He said that a special focus was made on the importance of attitudes as the cardinal prerequisite for effective public service delivery. DG Ms. Farah Hamid Khan on the occasion said that the trainee officers would serve the country with more dedication and zeal as they are now equipped with all the required skills to perform better and better. She said that bureaucracy is indispensable and its role in the overall socioeconomic development of a country cannot be downplayed.
