Both the government and the politicians are for the benefits of the people, because they are both trustees, but here in Pakistan, the case is completely opposite. Before 1947, we were slaves of the British, even today it has not changed, only the name has changed. We are still slaves to the courts, to the system, to the dreamers, to the media that can fix everything in our robotic brains whenever they want.
This is a country where expressing real opinions ends in deportation, some get tired of speaking out and some are sent to the Kenyan jungles for having good air. Governments are made by people; they don’t become themselves. We voted for PP in the 80’s because Benazir was a descendant of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, our forefathers were crazy about their slogans and she was also a feminist. In 1990, the people of our nation preferred Nawaz Sharif over Benazir because he had promised to bring the youth into the national mainstream and deal with power cuts and other economic reforms. After that people started following Imran Khan because he knows how to play with the minds of the youth and he is also a beloved captain. There is no doubt that he worked hard to make Pakistan a truly democratic country, but again failed to deliver during his regime.
Neither Imran Khan nor Nawaz Sharif can change our country, we need a systematic change in our country, every person from the cabinet should adopt a new systematic way of thinking. The poor people are sacrificing their lives for politicians, while their own children are safe.
We don’t want a country where the masterminds of the elite classes go unpunished despite having evidence like video recordings, where there are massacres, where rape is common, where the tongue of those who speak the truth is cut off.
Every government reaches America but Dr. Aafia Siddiqui has not been rescued till date, what will these governments give us who are taking away the basic rights of citizens by telling us that they are removing the loans.
Pakistan is our responsibility and today it only needs youth and true blood, where rules are made and they are implemented, where the officers are not culprits of financially stronger families, where the politicians do not sleep until a single child of the country hasn’t had his meals.
“We must believe that, morally speaking, there is no limit to the concern one must feel for the suffering of human beings, that indifference to evil is worse than evil itself, that in a free society, some are guilty but all are responsible” Says, Abraham Joshua Heschel.
