The delegation informed Raja Muhammad Farooq Hyder Khan that the government of Azad Kashmir is presenting an extremely flawed project to rehabilitate the Kashmiri Migrants 1989, lacking the courage to involve migrants at any level of trust, which is causing anxiety and a sense of deprivation among the migrants regarding this project. The Working Committee of Migrants urged the former Prime Minister to raise a strong voice in the upcoming Assembly session for the rehabilitation of migrants, two seats in the Assembly, implementation of domiciles, property rights of existing migrant settlements, and full implementation of the 6% quota.

During the conversation with the delegation, the former Prime Minister stated that migrants have migrated in the struggle for the freedom and right to self-determination of their state, following the tradition of the Prophet, they have always been associated with the movement. The commitment of the migrants’ movement for freedom is as solid as a rock. He assured the delegation that the people of the camps will actively participate in the struggle for the freedom of the occupied state from Indian occupation. They will not leave the Kashmiri people at the hands of the oppressive Indian forces. He reassured the migrant delegation that the government of Azad Kashmir will not take any action regarding the migrants that does not involve their trust. The government will decide the future, keeping in view the movement’s role and importance.

He assured that on Thursdays, during the Assembly session, they will highlight the concerns of migrants regarding the approved rehabilitation project, raising other demands mentioned in the rehabilitation project and charter of demands on the Assembly forum.
