DWP GB approves development projects of 16.9561 billion

The meeting of the Development Working Party Gilgit Baltistan has approved the projects of Rs 16.9561 billion in GB.

The projects which were approved include three megawatts solar power project at Diamir , which would cost Rs 600.8671 million, Skardu sewerage system costing Rs 5 .50 billion and Rural Development and Climate Resistance Sewerage System which will cost Rs 10.8480 billion.

The meeting of DWP-GB was held here on Wednesday with Chief Minister of Gilgit Baltistan Khalid Khurshid in the chair. The meeting recommended the ECNEC and CDWP to give approval of these projects

The CM GB also instructed the Planning and Development Department to prepare PC-I of PSDP projects according to the schedule rates fixed by Pak PWD, so that the quality of these development projects might be ensured.

During the meeting the CM GB issued a directive to Secretary Electricity GB to prepare the financial model of system up gradation, installation of smart meters along with ABC Cables. He said that with installation of this state of art technology in the electricity system would diminish the line losses and thus a fair quantity of the electricity would be saved.
