Chairman of Jammu & Kashmir Salvation Movement (J&KSM) Altaf Ahmed Bhat pays glorious tribute to martyrs of the Chota Bazar Massacre.
Chairman JKSM Altaf Ahmed Bhat in a press release issued today said that, On 11 June 1991, the Indian occupation forces opened indiscriminate fire and killed 32 innocent Kashmiris including women and children. Despite repeated demands of judicial inquiry, the victims and their families are still awaiting justice.
Bhat further added that, India continues to brutalize the defenceless Kashmiris in IIOJK through extra-judicial killings in fake “encounters” and staged “cordon-and-search” operations, custodial torture and imposition of collective punishment. These atrocities cannot break the will of the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the inalienable right to self-determination as enshrined in the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions.
Chairman JKSM while remebering and praying for Tufail Mattoo said that, On 11 June 2010, 17-year-old Tufail was returning to his home in Srinagar’s Saida Kadal area from his tuition classes — but near a neighboring protest, Indian occupation forces chased him and killed him. His killing had sparked protests in the city. More than 120 civilians were killed by the government forces in a few months.
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has also in its reports of 2018 and 2019 recommended the establishment of Commission of Inquiry to investigate gross and systematic human rights violations in IIOJK, but till now the families of the martyrs await justice.
Chairman JKSM said that Modi led BJP government of India is not only against Muslims but it is against Humanity, they are leaving no stone unturned to create havoc, disaster and threat to the peace and stability of whole South Asia.
Chairman JKSM Altaf Ahmed Bhat also urged the international community to hold India accountable for its grave human rights violations in the occupied territory, which warrant investigations under international scrutiny to bring the perpetrators of these serious crimes to justice.
