APHC holds Solidarity Rally for Kashmiri Political Prisoners

Muzaffarabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) organized a significant rally in occupied Jammu and Kashmir to express solidarity with Kashmiri prisoners and victims of Indian Army violence. This event aimed to highlight the plight of Kashmiri detainees and demand their immediate release. The rally saw participation from various prominent leaders, activists, and members of the public, all united in their call for justice and freedom.

The rally featured speeches from several notable figures, including: Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Speaker of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly Ghulam Mohammad Safi, Convener of the Hurriyat ConferenceImtiaz Naseem, Minister of the Government of Azad KashmirDr. Mohammad Mushtaq Khan, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Raja Khadim Hussain, Zahid Safi, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, and many others.

Participants in the rally carried placards and banners adorned with images of numerous Kashmiri prisoners, symbolizing their ongoing struggle. These slogans resonated throughout the march, reflecting the collective resolve of the Kashmiri people to continue their fight for freedom and self-determination.

The speakers condemned the ongoing Indian military occupation and the severe human rights abuses committed against the Kashmiri people. They asserted that the struggle for freedom would persist until the end of the occupation and the realization of the right to self-determination. Key points from the speeches included:

The leaders called on international human rights organizations to intervene and secure the release of Kashmiri prisoners, urging them to take notice of the ongoing human rights violations in the region.

They highlighted the sacrifices of prominent Kashmiri leaders such as Maqbool Bhat and Mohammad Afzal Guru, who were executed by the Indian government in an attempt to crush the spirit of the Kashmiri people. Despite these efforts, the resolve of the Kashmiri leadership remains unshaken.

The speakers urged global organizations like Amnesty International and Asia Watch to take cognizance of the war crimes being committed in Kashmir and hold India accountable.

The rally included a march from Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk to Ghari Pan Chowk, during which participants continued their chants and displayed their banners. The march culminated in a presentation of a memorandum to the UN Observers’ Office. This memorandum called for the fair resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions
