Mayor Islamabad monitors cleanliness measures during Eid-ul-Azha

ISLAMABAD:  Mayor Islamabad , Sheikh Ansar Aziz has said that spraying will be done all over the federal capital, so that the germs can be completely eradicated. He expressed this while talking to media here on Monday. He said that, like every year, this year also Islamabad was divided into five zones.

Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) had dug deep ditches at 40 places to destroy the remains of animals during Eid-ul-Azha. Sheikh Ansar Aziz has been reviewing the sanitation arrangements in the city for three days of Eid. He further said that, the staff of the Sanitation Department continued to perform their duties in Islamabad for three days of the sacrifice. The purpose was to destroy the remains so that the citizens would not be disturbed, he added. “For the convenience of the citizens, we had also introduced helpline and WhatsApp number, I have been inspecting the cleaning situation myself so that no one gets in trouble”,  he added.

The Mayor of Islamabad said that 2,000 employees of the sanitation department were busy in cleaning and removing the debris. In addition to these, more than 100 vehicles, dumpers, loaders, tractors, trolleys, cargo were allocated to dispose of offal and other wastes of the sacrificial animals from different sectors of the capital city.In the first two days of Eid, one hundred and one thousand remains of sacrificial animals were lifted and disinfected in the pits at forty different places. On the first day of Eid, the citizens offered sacrifices mostly at the proposed placed, whereas on the second day of Eid, collective and individual sacrifices continued.
