Secretary Food AJK Mansoor Qadir Dar has issued the instructions that all edible items could not be sold in the state without the quality approval of concerned food authority.
He was speaking to a workshop, which was organized by the Azad Kashmir Food Authority in collaboration with Pakistan Vanaspati Ghee and Nutrition International.
The Secretary said that no compromise would be made on the health of the people.
He apprised the forum that in AJK, the flour is full of all necessary vitamins, where now the government would take action to include vitamin A and D in the ghee and cooking oil available in the market.
He said that AJK Food Authority would also set up mobile testing labs and nutrition units in the entire state. The AJK government is implementing the standard of all edible items and juices.
“However it is necessary to create mass awareness so that the people especially living in far flung rural areas should know the importance the maintaining the quality in food items”, the Dar concluded
