As the President of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, he created the Revolutionary Army of Azad Kashmir and added religious affairs to the government departments. His services will always be appreciated by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He was the bright chapter in the history of the state of Jammu and Kashmir
President AJK said that Syed Ali Ahmad Shah was a figure of decency, honesty and intelligence as well as a person who fully adhered to Islamic poetry. On the occasion of the anniversary, he asked the people of Jammu and Kashmir to remember the sacrifices of their forefathers and it should be our first responsibility to complete the paths they set for freedom.
Syed Ali Ahmad Shah, after seeing the atrocities inflicted on the Kashmiris by the Dogras, left his post as a lieutenant in the Jammu and Kashmir Army of the Dogras and started active politics. On the basis of military experience, along with the Kashmiri leaders, the areas of Azad Kashmir were liberated from Dogra.
Syed Ali Ahmad Shah fought tirelessly for the accession of the state of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan and independence from India, and worked day and night for the awakening of political and national consciousness among the Kashmiris.
