Muzaffarabad: People of Jammu and Kashmir observed Black day on Indian Independence day to express rejection on Indian forceful occupation on International recognised disputed state.
According to details, a protest rally was organized under the aegis of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir at Khatam-e-Nabuwat Chowk in which hundreds of citizens participated holding banners, placards and black flags.
Participants of the rally marched from Khatam-e-Nabuwat chowk to AJK legislative Assembly and chanted Anti-India and pro freedom slogans.
Black Day rally was led by Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Usman Ali Hashim, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Aziz-Ur-Rehman, Muhammad Fayyaz Khan, Siddique Qureshi, Faisal Farooq, Ghulam Murtaza Mughal, Muhammad Ishaq Shaheen, Chaudhry Shahbaz Ahmed, Azmat Hayat Kashmiri and others.
Speakers on the occasion said that India’s Independence Day is a black day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir as India has occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the past seventy-six years by force, the Kashmiri people have been observing India’s Independence Day as a black day for the last 76 years.
The speakers said that even today the so-called democracy of the world is trying to force the Kashmiri citizens to celebrate the Independence Day.
“Government employees are being threatened to be dismissed from their jobs and innocent Kashmiri children are being taken to the rallies against their wishes and aspirations.
Speakers asked the Indian government whether Jammu and Kashmir was not a controversial issue in the United Nations, adding that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru did not promise a referendum to the Kashmiri people?
The people of Jammu and Kashmir admit that the resolutions passed by the United Nations are still the most effective document for determining the political future of the state.
The speakers demanded the United Nations for the right of self-determination and to resolve the Kashmir issue before long for the peace in South Asia
