Kashmiri people to mark black day on 5th Aug

Islamabad: Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Anwar-ul-Haq Chaudhry, stated that on August 5, the entire Kashmiri nation would observe black day, which is the important day in the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom from Indian occupation
He was speaking to the President of Azad Kashmir Newspaper Society (AKNS) Chaudhary Amjad, who called him on at the Kashmir House Islamabad . He said that the illegal actions and oppressive measures taken by India to suppress the movement going against the United Nations agreements and international laws are highly condemnable.
Prime Minister AJK emphasized that the occupation cannot continue for long against the will of the Kashmiri people.
The Prime Minister urged the media to fulfill its duties impartially and to verify the accuracy of news before disseminating them. He highlighted that corruption and other corrupt elements in Azad Kashmir are being tackled, and his government’s priority is to serve the public and address fundamental issues. He clarified that the news about the increase in wheat prices is baseless, and the media should investigate before reporting.

He stressed the media’s role in shaping public opinion and urged them to conduct fact-based reporting. As someone with a background in journalism, he is well aware of the issues and difficulties faced by the media, which is why his government has doubled the media budget. However, the impact of unfounded and factually incorrect news has hurt the credibility of the media, which in turn affects journalism.
He assured President AKNS that the AJK government ‘s support for the issues and financial difficulties faced by the media.

President AKNS Amjad Chaudhry assured Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Chaudhry that the AKNS will fully support the government’s public welfare initiatives, good governance, anti-corruption efforts, and development initiatives in Azad Kashmir.
