Peshawar: Khyber Medical University (KMU) took a significant stride in promoting institutional development through a historic quality award function organized by Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) KMU. The event, held at the Hafeezullah Auditorium, was spearheaded by the dynamic leadership of Dr. Syeda Asia Bukhari. The primary goal was to recognize and reward outstanding performance within affiliated institutions, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
The chief guest for the event was Muhammad Arshad Khan, Secretary Higher Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who graced the occasion with his presence. Notable attendees included VC KMU Professor Dr. Zia Ul Haq, former VC KMU Professor Dr. Hafeezullah, Dr. Jameel Ahmad from HEC, Vice Chancellor of Hazara University, Ziaul Islam, Chairman of Policy Board, and Prof. Dr. Shafiq, Member of Quality Assurance Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In his opening remarks, Vice-Chancellor Professor Zia Ul Haq expressed gratitude to the chief guest and other dignitaries for their unwavering support. He commended the commitment of the Quality Enhancement Cell in promoting excellence and specially acknowledged institutions that successfully achieved their predetermined performance targets. The KMU Quality Enhancement Cell identified and awarded the top-performing institutions, recognizing their dedication to continuous improvement and innovation.
During the event, Secretary Muhammad Arshad Khan underscored the fundamental importance of health education and emphasized the crucial role of maintaining quality in educational institutions. His passionate commitment reflected a sincere approach to responsibilities, demonstrating a keen interest in the overall educational landscape. Arshad Khan highlighted the need to balance ongoing expansion with the maintenance of quality, stressing that standards of academic excellence should never be compromised.
The Chief Guest extended invitations to distinguished individuals from institutions such as Women Medical and Dental College, Jinnah Medical College, Ayub Medical College, North West School of Medicine Peshawar, NCS University System Peshawar, and KMU Institute of Basic Medical Science. In recognition of their distinguished service, these institutions were conferred with W category awards of high quality. Additionally, participants were also awarded certificates of appreciation, with notable mentions including IPMS, IPH, IHPE, IPDM, and other affiliated institutions.
