White Coat Ceremony held at Azad Jammu and Kashmir Medical College

Muzaffarabad: The 14th white coat wearing ceremony was held at the Medical College in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with special guest Minister of Health for Azad Kashmir, Nisar Ansar Abdali. The ceremony was attended by students, parents, and faculty members of the college. Special guest Dr. Nisar Ansar Abdali, Principal of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Medical College Professor Dr. Mulazim Hussain Bukhari, former Principal Professor Ejaz Ali Khan, Vice Principal Dr. Adnan Maraj, and others presented white coats to students who excelled in the entry test and congratulated them. Former Principal Professor Ejaz Ali Khan also administered the oath to the newly enrolled students. Addressing the ceremony, Special Guest Health Minister Dr. Nisar Ansar Abdali congratulated the newly enrolled students who have chosen the field of humanitarian service. He also congratulated all parents whose hard work enabled their children to enter this great medical institution. He advised the new students that besides acquiring excellent medical skills, they also need to learn principles such as ethics and human compassion. He expressed confidence that after leaving this institution, they would contribute significantly to serving humanity. The Health Minister mentioned that graduates from AJK Medical College have earned a good reputation, and he congratulated Principal Professor Mulazim Hussain Bukhari for his many successful achievements over the past three years.

Speaking at the ceremony, Principal of the Medical College Professor Mulazim Hussain Bukhari said that medical education is different from other fields and requires utmost dedication. He emphasized to the new enrollees that their first priority should be their patients, and their ultimate goal should be serving the creation of God. He stressed that serving humanity is a divine reward and behind the position they have achieved today, lies the immense sacrifices of their parents.

Continuing, former Principal Professor Ejaz Ali Khan stated that the field of medicine sets the highest example of human compassion, which they should never forget. He took an oath of loyalty from the incoming MBBS students that they would become good doctors and serve the nation and the country. The new enrolled students pledged, wearing their white coats, to dedicate their lives to the service of humanity.

Professor Zahid Azim, in the ceremony, explained the college’s organization, regulations, and rules. He emphasized that any student with less than 75% attendance will not be allowed to appear in the examinations and said that there will be no remedial exams at the end of the year. Therefore, parents were advised to ensure their children maintain regular attendance and follow the assessment system from the beginning of the year to avoid wasting time. Vice Principal Professor Adnan Maraj, Exam Chair Professor Shaukat Hayat, Professor Muhammad Ayub, Professor Aarif, Professor Zahid Azim, Dean of Medical Education Professor Abdul Khaliq, Professor Bashir Shirwani, Professor Mumtaz Ahmad, Professor Azmat Hafeez, faculty members, students, and parents were present in large numbers at the ceremony.
