Mirpur: Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Chaudhry Amjad Iqbal has said that this year Pakistan’s Independence Day will be celebrated with fervor, national enthusiasm, and patriotic zeal.
He said that national flags will be hoisted on government and semi-government offices, and candles will be lit in this regard.
He further said that Mangla Entry Point and the city’s intersections, squares, and streets will also be adorned with flags of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. The main central event of Independence Day will be held at 8:45 am on August 14 at the Municipal Corporation’s Green Lawn, where national flags of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir will be raised.
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, on August 13, flags will be lit up on all district offices, public and private buildings, various landmarks, including traffic signals, schools, colleges, and universities, as well as other private educational institutions. Under the supervision of the Sports Department, various sports competitions will be held. The morning of August 14 will begin with a prayer ceremony in mosques. District Mufti and the Department of Religious Affairs will organize the prayer ceremony in all mosques.
