Fear of failure can be related to several causes. like having grave or uncooperative parents is a cause for some people. Because they were regularly undermined or disgraced them in their childhood, and they carry those negative state of mind into adulthood. Most of the time we see children whose parent disgraced their child in childhood and they carry depressed feelings to adulthood. For example, if children failed in their 3rd standard mostly parents start criticizing their children, and the negative comments he got from parents affected his attitude towards success. Sometimes we see traumatic experiences in our life also lead to fear of failure. Truly, the more you experience disappointment mostly at a youthful age, the more you assemble your versatility. Most people face the fear of failure because they think their ego will be hurt. This makes it difficult for them to start something new. And in the end, they become shy and stop trying new tasks, which adds some value to their lives. It always makes them afraid of starting something new like starting a new business. The worst part of all, they never pursue their dreams because they value how others see them. People with a fear of failure often experience an anxiety disorder, feel emotionally weak, they are more dissatisfied with their lives. Because they are mentally disturbed and this fear also affects their health.
Self-sabotage: When you are afraid of taking steps that move us forward to reaching our goal. It refers to the thoughts that hold you back and stops you from doing what you want to do. Almost everybody has gone or experiencing this kind of fear. Lack of communication: Don’t want to answer telephone calls when you are self-employed. This deficiency leads you to the wrong path or an area of non-verbal communication, regardless of whether business calls or in social or private settings. You don’t answer or accept the phone calls because you don’t want to listen to bad comments, for example,” it is very difficult, we can’t do that”. Perfectionism: Perfectionism is a willingness to do those activities or any kind of work that you will complete perfectly and effectively. If you are dealing with perfectionism, you will never start new tasks since you realize you won’t complete them and finish them. Low self-esteem or self-confidence: Someone using negative comments like “You are not good enough to get this promotion” or “you fail”.
Learn to think more positively: Positive thinking is a key to build self-confidence and neutralize selfsabotage. Always give yourself a chance, appreciate yourself whether you fail or succeed to achieve your goal. Remember that success will make you happy but if you fail don’t be sad always learn from your failure and give yourself a second chance. Have a contingency plan: If you are afraid, you fail in achieving your goal, there is always a Plan B, this will help you feel more confident about moving forward. This could be a small plan to keep your momentum going whenever you find a perfect solution to your problem. If you are a great Planner then you should work on a different plan, if any part of your task does not you have a backup plan ready to be fitted there.
Set goals: Always take small steps to reach a final goal. If you want to achieve something in life then divide this task into two or three targets. Now complete your targets one by one. This will feel more confident about your goal. After completing these targets, you will achieve your goal. Just like take an example of a ladder. The ladder is not easy to climb in the beginning but after taking some steps it can be easier. Goals are the same way you just need to take a step to reach your final goal. If you are afraid of failure, you may be not comfortable setting your goals. But goals help us define what we want from our life. Without goals, we are not sure about our destination. Visualization: A visualization is a powerful tool used for goal setting. Imagine how your life will be after you’ve reached your goal is a great motivator to keep you moving ahead. Though, visualization produced opposite results in people who have a fear of failure. Research shows that people having a fear of failure often left in a strong negative mood after being asked to visualize goals and goal achievement. “Fear regret more than failure”
