The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced its financial results for the year 2020, reporting a profit of Rs 2.4 billion, Country News reported on Monday.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the national airline’s operational loss fell to Rs6.8 billion.
The spokesperson added that after 11 years, the operational deficit of PIA went below a threshold of billions of rupees. The overall deficit of PIA went down by 33.7%.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, airlines around the world are suffering huge losses, but despite the coronavirus and European sanctions, the results of PIA were very quite encouraging, the spokesperson maintained.
