AJK President says it’s high time to give rights to people

Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan on Sunday condemned the killing of three youth at the hands of occupation troops in Sopore town of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

“World history is evident that the freedom movement can never be suppressed through oppression and coercion,” he was quoted as saying in a statement. The handout was issued in reaction to occupation forces action in IIOJK’s Sopore town of the Baramulla district.

The Foreign Office had also strongly condemned the incident. “The Indian occupation army has intensified extra-judicial killings of the Kashmiris in so-called cordon-and-search operations despite ravaging Covid 19 pandemic,” it said in an official handout.

According to the FO, more than 55 Kashmiris have been killed this year alone by the Indian occupation forces. “India should be well aware that no amount of Indian brutalisation will be able to subjugate the Kashmiris and break their will in their struggle for self-determination,” it read.

Pakistan reiterated that its call for independent inquiry under international scrutiny to investigate the unabated killings of Kashmiris by Indian occupation forces and to bring the perpetrators of such heinous crimes to justice.

“States that had used force to silence the voices of justice could not survive for long,” the AJK president said.
Masood said that the turnout of thousands of mourners in the funeral prayers of the youth despite all restrictions was proof that the Kashmir people firmly stand with the liberation movement and they have rejected India’s state terrorism.

The AJK president said that the Kashmiri youth, who are sacrificing while resisting the Indian war machinery, give a clear message to Delhi that “all repressive means would fail against their resolve for the liberation of their motherland.”

He recalled that once communism arrogantly ruled almost half of the world, but as such an order was also based on oppression when it collapsed, its impacts spread up to Asia, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe.

The AJK president advised the Indian government that it was high time to grant the right of self-determination to the people of occupied Kashmir, and play their role in maintaining peace in the region as well as the survival of their own state. Otherwise, he said, “they were bound to experience the same situation in Assam, Mizoram, Behar, and West Bengal also, and if this happened, the Indian rulers would not be able to control it.”

Paying glowing tributes to the youth of occupied Kashmir and to their leaders, he said that the people of AJK and the 220 million people of Pakistan stand by them, and they would continue to support their Kashmiri brethren till they achieve their goal of freedom.
