SHANGLA: On Friday night, armed men broke into MPA Faisal Zeb Khan’s home for the Awami National Party in the Titwalan neighbourhood of the Martung tehsil.
The perpetrators fired at the residence for another 30 minutes before fleeing, according to the police, who added that no one was hurt or killed in the event.
After filing a FIR, the police started their investigation. Following the attack, the neighbourhood was overcome with panic and fear, and many worried that terrorism may have returned to the area.
Aimal Wali Khan, the provincial president of the ANP, Amir Muqam, Shaukat Yousafzai, the minister of culture and labour, and other leaders denounced the attack on Faisal Zeb’s home in Titwalan, a neighbourhood that borders the Buner district, a frequent target of terrorist strikes.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf members, meanwhile, took to the streets on Saturday to protest the high cost of living and to show support for Imran Khan, the party’s leader.
Alpuri tehsil chairman Waqar Ahmad Khan, Bisham tehsil chairman Sadeed ur Rehman, and the party’s Shangla president Liaqat Ali Yousafzai led the demonstration. The PTI employees chanted anti-federal government slogans, focusing in particular on how rising food and energy costs had a negative impact on the poor and how the government had done nothing to stem the inflationary spiral.
They claimed that the government was attempting to weaken the PTI leadership by filing fictitious police reports (FIRs) against them, but they would not allow anyone to harm the party’s name.
