ADELAIDE: “Perfectly flawless” At the Twenty20 World Cup on Tuesday, Virat Kohli worked out as usual, according to his coach Rahul Dravid, who also expressed his hope that a repeat of the breach of privacy that left the star batter “paranoid” won’t occur.
Intruder who recorded Kohli’s room at a Perth hotel as India was preparing for the current tournament in Australia was denounced by Kohli on social media on Monday.
To his 221 million Instagram followers, Kohli tweeted, “I feel really anxious about my privacy.
When India’s players practised at Adelaide’s indoor nets the following day due to rain in preparation for their Super 12 encounter against Bangladesh on Wednesday, it was business as usual for them.
Dravid commended Kohli for handling the situation so well.
Virat included, it’s not very pleasant for anyone, according to Dravid, who called it unsatisfactory.
However, we reported it to the appropriate authorities, who then took action. Hopefully, events like these won’t occur again and people will be much more cautious going forward.
“A player’s room is one spot where you feel like you’re away from people’s prying eyes or without the media glaring at you, without the images that all of these guys have to deal with,” he continued.
“It’s one area where you hope to feel safe and comfortable, so when that sense is taken away, it’s not really a good feeling.
“However, I believe he handled it pretty well. He is in training right now, and he is ideal.”
The 33-year-old Kohli has experienced intense fan adoration throughout his playing career, with some even attempting to kiss him on the field while taking pictures on the field during games.
But Kohli responded angrily to the hotel incident, writing: “This kind of fanaticism and complete breach of privacy is NOT acceptable to me.
“Please respect people’s privacy and don’t use them as a source of entertainment,”
A contractor was “stood down,” the hotel reported after opening an investigation.
