KARACHI: Six MQM-P leaders, including the president of the organization’s restoration committee, Farooq Sattar, were cleared of all charges in three cases of provocative speech on Wednesday by an anti-terrorism court in Karachi.
According to the police, the cases were initially filed at several Karachi police stations in 2016.
The party chief Altaf Hussain gave several controversial and divisive speeches, and lawsuits were filed against the party leaders for sponsoring, attending, and participating in such lectures.
Amir Khan, Farooq Sattar, Waseem Akhtar, Khawaja Izharul Hassan, Javed Rahim, and Mehmood Abdul Razzaq were all exonerated by the court.
In one case each, Salman Mujahid Baloch, Abdur Rauf Siddiqui, and Qamar Mansoor were found not guilty.
