After 12 years of marriage, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik, one of South Asia’s most popular celebrity couples, have separated, according to a number of international media sites.
Gulf News, a publication based in the United Arab Emirates, stated: “The Indian tennis sensation and her Pakistani cricketer husband have ended their marriage and are co-parenting their kid, Izhaan Mirza-Malik.”
Their supporters expressed sadness and urged the couple to make amends after hearing the news, which did not sit well with them.
Such rumours have circulated before, so this isn’t the first time they’ve done so. The pair had almost broken up back in 2012 when they were going through a difficult time. Shoaib and Sania, however, later settled their differences and chose to remain together.
