Orakzai: An awareness seminar on forest protection was organized in the Jirga Hall of the district headquarters of Orakzai tribal district, in which special guests, MPA Ghazan Jamal, Deputy Commissioner Adnan Farid, Forest Officer Shahid Noor and the people of the area participated.
Addressing the seminar, Ghazan Jamal DC Adnan Farid and others said that forests are the beauty and precious capital of Orakzai, we all have a responsibility to protect the forests until we protect the trees, then we will have the best and health. We cannot build a healthy society. The importance of trees for human life cannot be denied. Therefore, a law is being made for the forests of the merged districts, separate from the province. Public consultation will be included in this new law. Forests will be the property of the people. The aim of the seminar is to inform the people about this new law and to include their consultation in the law. In the seminar, the tribal leaders expressed reservations about the new law and said that these forests are our ancestors’ and national forests, we should protect them ourselves. We will be allowed to burn wood without a permit and to build houses.
