A woman is not safe anywhere if there is no adherence to Islamic rules and regulations and law
Women are not safe anywhere. Not even at home. Not even in the grave.
In the family, if she lives in a joint family system where the sons of uncles, aunts, uncles, aunts, etc. have to come and go freely in their homes or in mixed educational institutions or places of work and business. A woman is not safe anywhere because. A woman is weak and born with a weak soul. If anyone can protect her, it is a man (father, brother, husband, and son).
One who follows Islamic teachings and a society where Islamic rules and principles are enforced and the law is enforced, otherwise she is a sex toy whether she is a three-year-old girl or a sixty-year-old woman.
For the last few years, 8th March Women’s Day has become the center of media attention due to this issue. On this day, women’s rights are discussed loudly, talk shows are held, and demonstrations and rallies are organized. And women do and should raise their voices for their rights.
It is a fact that our Pakistani society is not Islamic. Our society is living under Hindu culture and western mental slavery. That’s why in this woman is considered as a man’s domain or a means to fulfill lust.
Undoubtedly, there are classes in Pakistan who marry girls according to the Holy Qur’an so that the property remains in the house, in the same way, if they marry their choice, they kill them by committing cruelty like Karukari. All these rituals and cruelty. It has nothing to do with Islam
And some groups believe that women should have the same freedom as men. This group considers men as enemies of women.
Both these classes are prone to inflation.
This struggle to take rights has now turned into a war. Instead of rights, the idea of taking superiority over men is growing.
In this whole cycle, the family system is badly affected.
In western society in particular and our society in general, the family system is suffering defeat due to this war of rights. If you look at the current data in Pakistan, the rate of divorce is increasing tremendously. When parents are unable to run the system as a family, their young children turn to crime and addiction.
According to a survey, more than 100,000 cases of divorce and khula were registered in Lahore alone in 2022. Similarly, according to a recent survey by Gallup Pakistan, 100,000 cases of talaq and khula were registered in Punjab alone in 2021. More than 10,000 women were issued degrees of Khula. This trend is increasing day by day.
According to a survey, more than 100 cases are being filed daily in Pakistan and these cases are filed by women.
Living in a secular country like Turkey, I felt safe and free among women.
If seen in Western and secular countries, women have a lot of freedom. In Western society, women can vote as they wish. They are appointed to high government positions based on merit. They are free to make their own decisions. Men do not subordinate women.
But even in the West, women are not safe even though they have many rights. According to a BBC report, twenty-five people are victims of sexual abuse and violence in the United States in one minute, while one in five women is a victim of sexual violence. Sexual harassment and violence at all levels in American military institutions alone. is found.
Since 2018, the published information regarding the US defense agencies shows that only forty percent of women working in the US military have been subjected to sexual violence.
Also, in the UK in 2018, when the National Union of Students examined sexual violence, 41 percent of female students revealed that they had been sexually harassed. In British universities, sexual harassment was done not only against young but also highly educated women. According to the review, 35 percent of female students in higher education admitted to being sexually assaulted by staff members against their will.
While in eastern society, women are subjected to mental and physical violence. Honor killing is the norm. In the backward areas of Sindh, women have to live under the influence of Vadirs, tribal chiefs, and landlords. Women are subjected to rituals like Vani, Sta, and Swara.
Women are treated like animals. They are deprived of even basic human rights.
Domestic violence against women is a huge problem in Pakistan. At present, the situation is that they are subjected to violence for the most trivial matter and often this violence is so severe that it results in the death of the woman.
According to a report by Human Rights Watch, an estimated 5,000 women are killed, and thousands more are seriously injured or maimed by domestic violence every year. There is no legal recourse for women victims of domestic violence in Pakistan. Law enforcement agencies do not treat domestic violence as a crime and such cases are not even registered.
In 2022, 513 women were raped in Karachi alone. More than 500 women and minor girls were subjected to sexual exploitation and 3650 women were victims of domestic violence.
These statistics have been given by the medico-legal officer of three major hospitals in Karachi, these three hospitals are Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center, Dr. Rath Faw Civil Hospital, and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
The kidnapping of a flood-affected girl and the gang rape incident in Karachi itself is also shameful. The actual figures are much higher than the reported figures, while the proportion of convictions for these crimes is only 11%.
63 thousand 367 crimes against women were reported across Pakistan in 2022.
According to the statistics released on the official website of the Punjab Police, 1185 cases of rape were registered in Punjab alone between January 1, 2020, and April 30, 2020. During the same months, 75 cases of gang rape were registered separately.
According to a report in 2021, 2275 girls were sexually abused, of which 92 were killed after being raped. In the last 20 years, many laws have been made in Pakistan to protect women’s rights, but still, women’s Crimes could not be controlled.
Our women face many crimes including honor killing, acid throwing, physical harassment, rape, gang rape, custodial violence, and kidnapping.
The reason for crimes against women is that rapists get away easily from the courts while crimes against women are decided in panchayats or jirgas.
Which is generally in favor of men.
In the same way, in villages, Goths thanas are ruled by Vaders, Jagirdars, and Khans. No SHO works without their consent.
Those who commit crimes against women get the shelter of these influential people. In most cases, these influential people get the support of the criminal, so the police, court, and law fail to give justice to the victim.
Only those heard on social media or the media spread grief among people.
Islam, which we are all followers of, has given women more rights than men.
The status of the mother is three times higher than that of the father and heaven is placed under the feet of a woman.
The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said about women in the Farewell Sermon, “Fear God in the matter of women, you have a right over women and women have a right over you.”
If only the rights prescribed for women in Islam are made enforceable in our country, there would be no need to run so many movements.
Some people/groups are narrow-minded about women’s rights and some people are too enlightened.
It would be better to find a middle way that is following the theory of Islam. Through this, women’s empowerment is possible.
The movements of women’s rights and women’s awareness that you are seeing today are echoes of the same revolution that was given to women 14 hundred years ago by the Holy Prophet.
There is a need for teachers, the educational system, parents, and the media to enlighten men and women with Islamic teachings so that everyone is aware of their rights and duties and fulfill their rights and duties.
There is a dire need to fully implement the laws that have been made regarding women’s protection.
