The funeral prayers of Prof Amir Farooq, professor department of Geology Azad Jammu and Kashmir University, was held in university grounds on Monday.
The body was sent to his hometown Mirpur for burial.
Chancellor University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi, deans of various faculties, faculty members, heads of provincial departments, university officers, employees, students participated in the funeral prayers.
Senior most Minister, AJK government Khawaja Farooq Ahmed also participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased professor.
During condolence reference, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi, Prof. Dr. Rustam Khan, Dr. Mirza Shahid, Prof. Ikram Rashid paid rich tributes to Prof. Amir Farooq for his outstanding services to the University of Azad Jammu Kashmir.
Dr Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi in his address said that Prof. Aamir Muzaffarabad, first as a student and then an expert, spent his life serving the nation. Due to his relationship with students and staff he was very dear to every heart. He prayed to Almighty Allah to accept the good deeds of the deceased and give him a place in Jannah.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Rustam Khan said that the valuable academic services of Professor Amir Farooq will be remembered.
