Member Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and former government minister Syed Bazil Ali Naqvi has said that providing basic facilities to the workers is the primary duty of the state. The government had to take concrete steps for the welfare of the workers. The Pakistan People’s Party is a workers’ party.
In his special statement on the International Labourers day, Syed Bazil Ali Naqvi said It is impossible to build roads, bridges, schools or completion of large construction projects without workers. He said, “I am sorry to say that workers in our country do not have the rights they deserve”.
He further said that the workers of Chicago not only immortalized themselves by rebelling against the exploitative system, but also made the coming era realize that the role of workers in the development of society, country and nations is very important.
He said that the workers it is the primary responsibility of the state to provide the basic facilities of education including medical treatment facilities to the children and we have to fulfil this duty. A country like America also had to accept that there is no choice without giving the workers their rights.
He said that the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah himself participated in the labour movement and he served the workers as the president of the postal union. Many labour laws in India were presented and passed in the assembly.
He said that many reform packages were brought for the workers during the time of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari. On the occasion of labour day, he also paid tribute to the labourers for their services to the country.
