Muzaffarabad : The University of AJK , Muzaffarabad has organized a blood donation camp and awareness walk on the eve of World Thalassemia Day.
Large number of the students and faculty members including Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi participated in both the events.
On the occasion VC Dr. Kaleem Abbasi urged the students to not only donate blood in maximum quantity for the Thalassemia patients but also create mass awareness about the lethal syndrome.
“I can feel the agony of the family members who have children suffering with Thalassemia”, the VC added.
During the awareness walk, the students were carrying posters and placards on which catchphrases regarding awareness of the disease were mentioned.
On the occasion health experts apprised the students that blood tests may be conducted before marriage to fight Thalassemia.
