Muzaffarabad: President of Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir and Member of Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin has said that personalities like the late Benazir Bhutto are born once in centuries.
While addressing the ceremony of the 70th birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto at the People’s Secretariat here Chaudhary Yasin said that Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto initiated the atomic program while his daughter, Benazir Bhutto made the country invincible by providing missile technology.
He said that that being the first female Prime Minister of the Muslim world, she created a new history.
“We endured imprisonment for the sake of restoration of democracy but did not surrender. The Bhutto family is the family of martyrs. Imran Khan is also a politician. When he spent a day in jail, everyone saw what happened to the country”, he added.
They said that Asif Ali Zardari remained committed with the BB’s cause for the 13 years or so, and the slogan given by him at BB’s martyrdom of ‘Pakistan Khappe’ became a reality.
He said that PPP is paying rich tributes to the late Benazir Bhutto and make a commitment to follow her footsteps that we will change the destiny of the country.
Yasin was of the view that Benazir Bhutto was a unique leader who embraced martyrdom but did not compromise on principles. During the tenure of Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan achieved a dignified status in the world.
He said that Benazir Bhutto became the voice of Kashmiris on the Kashmir issue, and she emerged as an international leader. Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, will fulfill her mission.
He said that If Benazir Bhutto had been alive, Kashmir would have been liberated from the clutches of Indian occupation.
