Muzaffarabad: Under the leadership of Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhary Anwar-ul-Haq, the Board of Members of AJK Small Industries Corporation has approved a budget of Rs. 456.5 million. The meeting included Principal Secretary Zafar Mahmood Khan, Secretary Industries, Secretary Planning and Development, Special Secretary Finance, and the MD of Small Industries. Additionally, representatives from the Chambers of Commerce Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, and the President of the Bank of AJK attended the session.
Prime Minister Azad Kashmir has directed the formation of a committee, headed by the Secretary Industries, consisting of secretaries and special secretaries from relevant departments. This committee is tasked with proposing reforms while presenting recommendations to the government. The Prime Minister emphasized the need to provide a list of artisans across Azad Kashmir, facilitating their registration process after boosting their morale.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Azad Kashmir has allocated Rs. 25 crores for providing loans to unemployed youth through brotherhood. He urged the Corporation to take initiatives to revitalize the local cutting industry. Special attention was advised for domestic handicrafts to uplift and motivate artisans, aiming to reduce unemployment.
Prime Minister Azad Kashmir highlighted the importance of uplifting skilled workers such as paper machinists, carpet weavers, shawl makers, and woodworkers. He stressed the Corporation’s responsibility to implement measures that lead to an increase in revenue and a reduction in expenditures.
