Women University Bagh initiates first project, awards contract for mega development

Bagh: Women University Bagh has embarked on its inaugural project, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards academic excellence and infrastructural development. The university recently awarded a contract worth 704.513 million for Package-I of the strengthening of Women University, Bagh, ushering in a new era of growth and progress.
In this ambitious venture, the university plans to construct academic blocks, student hostels, and administration buildings, alongside state-of-the-art laboratories tailored to meet the educational needs of its female students. The project, funded under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) with a total budget of 1090.914 million, received approval from the Higher Education Commission in July 2021.
The civil works component, amounting to 786.594 million, has been entrusted to ACE Limited, appointed as the engineering consultant in May 2022. Following meticulous planning and engineering estimates, the project tender was advertised in various newspapers on July 15, 2023.
After adhering to all regulatory requirements stipulated by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), M/s ZK & Associates emerged as the successful bidder, clinching the contract on January 18, 2024. The contract signing ceremony, held in the university’s conference room, was attended by esteemed dignitaries including Mr. Muhammad Zahid, Treasurer, and Director Planning, alongside Mr. Zeem Khan, Chief Executive of ZK & Associates.
Dr. Abdul Hamid, Vice Chancellor of Women University Bagh, expressed his gratification at the commencement of the university’s maiden project, highlighting its importance in fostering educational excellence and ensuring the provision of top-notch facilities for students. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to transparency and accountability in all future endeavors, aiming to set a benchmark for women’s education in the region.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of key officials from both Women University Bagh and ZK & Associates, including Registrar Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq, Controller Examinations Dr. Tahira Batool, Project Director Yaser Mir, Director Works Syed Tayyab Sadiq, and other distinguished members of the university’s administrative team, underscoring the collective determination towards realizing the institution’s vision of academic prominence and societal impact.
